It's the end of the week!

Which means all y'all who are still doing artslam, this'd be the post to post your links or stuff of whatever you want to post! :D

Mine's here, in the previous (locked, sorry) entry, which I assume everyone has seen, but hey, part of the thing is sharing stuff, right? I say as the entry is locked and all. Shush. >.>

Also, there was talk in the last artslam check-in of people wanting a community to post in. I'm hesitant because there are so few of us, but hey, that's what signalboosting is for, I guess? Soooo quick lazypoll:

1. How many of y'all would like to move this into a community?

2. If so, anyone have any suggestions for a name? I don't actually want to use artslam as it's already an LJ comm with a slightly different premise, and this particular slam I'm running isn't limited to just art ('artslam' is just really catchy and I've not come up with something better).

3. Would you boost it around? :D?

I am not doing artslam and thus have no say in anything, but I kind of selfishly don't want another community to follow to see everyone's artses. /fail

I'd still boost it around, though. And really should consider doing it sometime. (Trying to decide if "dreamslam" is too pathetic a name to bother bringing up.)

You brought it up! XP Therefore it goes on the list of possible names, if it's a thing that people do. I'm still hesitant to do a comm as well, for various reasons, but I'm mostly just seeing what those involved in it want as there were noises made about it last check-in. WE SHALL SEE.

You should totally create-slam something sometime. I'm gonna be doing it for at least three more weeks, if not more. :P Though eventually these slams will turn into DRAW ALL THE COMIC PAGES AAAAA and then I wont be posting regularly anymore.

I was thinking dreamslam might work because it being the DW equivalent to LJ, plus it being a reason to work on a "dream" project, but. Eh. I hope someone comes up with something more catchy. XD

If there was a community and I was actually participating, I don't know how comfortable I'd feel posting stuff there, but I know that it would probably be beneficial to a lot of people. Different mental hang ups and everything.

I started an unofficial Byrdslam last night! Wherein I hope to try and draw Byrd over and over until maybe I can get fairly consistent at drawing somebody, because right now, the people I draw look nothing like what they're supposed to. Might evolve into Byrd-and-Wolfe-slam, if I get bored of Byrd, but, uh, I have the most photoreferences for him, so.

Aaaaaa comic pages :D exciting! Although am sad that they won't be regular, even if it's totally understandable.

BYRDSLAM! YEAH! \o/ If you get anything you're willing to share, I wanna seee! :D And man, photoreferences like, killed my desire to draw characters for awhile. I was all "whatever, I have this picture here, I don't need to draw them!" Except then all the K-types starting looking nothing like Uruha (except for Kaden), and Babel never looked right and...yeah. And now I even want to draw Katja and she's pretty much still a dead ringer for Zoetica Ebb in my head, so. Yep. /ramble

And dreamslam might work. I'm tempted to sit on the name just in case I want to make the comm, but right now the idea is so tiny that idk if it would work or not. :x I think right now I've decided against communitying it just because there are so few people doing it. And I have a lot of other stuff to be concentrating on, like moving and Linger and...all the expensive shit that's gone wrong in my life in the past two weeks. :/

Well, hopefully at some point the comic pages will be regular! When we uh, launch the comic. >.>

Time for an Awesome Story, Squeem!: So most of my drawings happen late at night and in the moment, I'm like, "Hey! Not bad at all!" and then I wake up and realize that they really are that bad. BUT. They are an improvement of how I used to draw? I think?

I think that what I'll probably do is make a flocked post or something, assuming I have the attention to scan things and upload them to the Internet. Buuuuut yeah. Do not expect things that look good. >____>

For me, photo references are kind of necessary. I have no idea how body parts fit together? And I can't visualize faces in my mind, so I kind of need something to look off, at least right now. I'm hoping that once I figure out how drawing Byrd's face works, I can hopefully start playing with other characters' designs and figuring that out. (I also really really need to figure out how to draw ladies, because those are the people I have very few references for. D:)

ALSO PHOTOREFERENCES NEVER DO THE THINGS I WANT MY CHARACTERS TO DO. Like carry sub-machine guns. Or hang out with their respective character people. Or deal cards, or beat the shit out of somebody.

COMIC PAGES! PUT THEM IN MY EYEEESSS. But not literally. More seriously, though, I've started looking forward to seeing what everyone's been doing. Free art! Yay!

My week was busy and tired, so I didn't do much... but, what I did was here, and I actually do think there are some really good photos in there.

I think it would be better as not a community, maybe, personally? I don't know, I like it here~

I do feel like I'd be more likely to participate if it were a community, but on the other hand, communities with a small membership often do not work out and they just kind of die because people forget to be doing things in them, so I can see a down side to it as well?
